How to edit/check the email settings on your Android phone

If you are having issues with your email on your Android phone, please check that your setting are correct as follows:

  1. Start by going into the Settings app and search for the Account section. 
  2. Click onto the mail account you are having issues with and click onto the account listed under the heading IMAP.
  3. Check the following email accounts settings are correct:
    • Email address e.g. joe@yourdomainname.com so as an example for someone at Boost Digital Group it would be joe@boostdigitalgroup.co.uk
    • Password: the password for your email account.
  4. Check the Incoming Server Settings are correct:
        • User Name: user@yourdomainname.com (this is your email address)
        • Password: the password for your email account.
        • Server: mail.yourdomainname.com
  5. Next you need to check the Outgoing Mail Server settings, which is exactly the same as the Incoming mail server:
      • User Name: user@yourdomainname.com (this is your email address)
      • Password: the password for your email account.
      • Server: mail.yourdomainname.com
  6. Click Next and Next again and your email account should now be set up correctly and be ready to use on your Android phone.
  7. Now visit your Mail app on your phone to view your emails.
