Create a post from an existing elementor template

If you have an Elementor Post Template already created to use as your ‘New Post Template’, then you can easily and quickly create new posts in your chosen layout and design.

To create a new post:

    1. From the WordPress Admin Dashboard, select Posts from the left navigation menu and choose Add New

    2.  Type your post Title into the box that says ‘Add title‘

    3. In the section directly below the title where it says ‘Type / to choose a block‘, this is where the body text of your post needs to be added. It is easier to use the Elementor editor for this, so all you need to do here is to type the first word or sentence of your post. This will ensure that an Elementor text box is added for you to add the text and images for your post.
    4. Next you need to add the Categories, Tags and Featured Image into the panel on the right hand side. Choose ‘Posts’ rather than the option ‘Block’ and these options will be displayed.

      – tick one or more relevant categories. You can also create a new category here.

      – add the relevant tags for your post. Separate each tag with a commas or by pressing enter.

      Set Featured Image
      – click ‘Set Feature Image’ which will take you to the Media Library. From here you can select an existing image or upload a new image to the library. Always ensure that any images you upload have the correct filename and conform to any naming conventions that you may have in place.

    5. Now to add the body text for your post, along with any additional images, links etc. Click ‘Edit with Elementor’

    6. The Elementor editor will be opened – the Text Editor is displayed on the left, which is where you add your text, images (Add Media) and formatting such as Heading styles, text style, bullet points, links etc.

Add your content and use your preview on the right hand side to view your new post as you create it.

    7. Once all details have been added click ‘Publish’ to put your new post live on the website.

If you would prefer to save your post as draft as you create it and publish later once you’ve finished, you can instead click the arrow to the left of publish to display the option ‘Save as Draft‘. You can click save as draft as many times as required while you work on your article and click publish only when ready for the post to go live.

    8. If you make any further changes to your post, simply click ‘Update’ to post your amends live on the website.
